Women Wing of CMA Honours War Widows

Women wing of the Chandigarh Management Association today honoured 4 war widows at a special solemn ceremony to commemorate the day on which Flt. Lt. Maheesh Trikha, made supreme sacrifice while defending the country.

Martyr Flight Lieutenant Maheesh Trikha laid down his life for the country in ‘Operation Meghdoot’ while being on an operational sortie in a Cheetah Helicopter of 114 Helicopter Unit of the Indian Air Force at Siachen Glacier, the highest battlefield in the world.

Speaking on the occasion, Lt. Col. Uma Vasudeva (Retd.), Chiarperson (Army Welfare) –CMA said that the country is proud of our Jawans who fight with resolute and valour to save the honour of the Motherland and inspired the youth present on the occasion to join armed forces, which she said is noble career.

Chandigarh Management Association (CMA) celebrated its 43rd Foundation Day at Red Bishop, Panchkula on January 23, 2010. The day was celebrated as an occasion to present CMA annual Excellence Awards for entrepreneurship. In the absence of Invited Chief Guest, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism of Hrayana, Mr. H.S.Malik, the senior most past president of CMA presided over the event. On this occasion all the past presidents of CMA were also honoured.

CMA Excellence Award –year 2009 for “Professionally Managed Best Company” was given to M/S Groz Beckert Asia Limited, Chandigarh. Dr. Anton Rein Felder, Managing director of M/S Groz Beckert received the award

S. Indereshwar Singh Paul, MD, Drish Shoes Ltd., Panchkula was awarded for “Distinguished First Generation Entrepreneur” and S Pushvinder Jit Singh, CEO of M/S. Tynor Orthotics (P) Ltd. Mohali was awarded as “Innovative Entrepreneur”

Go for FDR-OD account to save and consolidate money

Mr. Manmohan Garg, renowned Chartered Accountant, and Chairman and Managing Director of Gurukul Vidyapeeth, while delivering a talk on “How not to lose money everyday” on 18th January said that it is better to open fixed deposit with over draft facility if you really want to save money and consolidate for the future.

The talk was organised by CMA as a part of its monthly lecture series.

Mr. Manmohan said, keeping money in the saving bank account is sheer wastage of money, which otherwise you could have earned in FDR-OD, while maintaining the liquidity. He convinced the audience of CMA members through simple calculations that they keep loosing money every day if they don't plan their savings intelligently.

He also said that investment in the house property other than what you possess (home) already is a wise investment, besides taking educational loans for the study of your children.

Call for your articles for CMA eMagazine

CMA Executive Committee in its meeting held on November 14 had taken a decision to publish a bi-monthly eMagazine containing some qualitative articles of interest to the professional management fraternity along with CMA News and Photographs of the activities. The eMagazine would contain view points and write-ups of management experts belonging to various fields. Our efforts would be to design the contents of the eMagazine to serve the interest of business and management community of the region. The eMag could also carry case studies on Corporate Strategy, Marketing, HR & Technology etc. done by business schools in the region.
